This is abuse:
This mainly targets females even though it can target both
genders. Someone concerned with domestic abuse in relationships has made this
short ad. The purpose is to get people thinking about what domestic abuse
really is and to make them question if they are going through domestic abuse or
not. They use direct and indirect address in an authoritative way. They use
direct address in the ending where text shows up on screen and says if you
could see yourself, would you see abuse which is direct because it’s asking you a question and is
authoritative because its speaking as if it’s happened to them before. The
entire add apart from the end is indirect because it is dialogue between two
others and is not directly talking to the audience.
Be food smart
This targets parents of young children. This is made by a
food organisation called change4life and its purpose is to raise awareness on
how eating curtain foods every breakfast time can lead to problems down the
line such as type 2 diabetes and even cancer. They use direct address for most
of the ad as they are telling you to eat less sugary foods however they also
use indirect address when they tell you the foods that contain the most sugar. They
also use familiar address when they tell you that you should eat less sugary
foods also.
